In your opinion, what does it mean to be an artist?

In my opinion, an artist has a passion or urge to create. Art is a diverse and beautiful form of expression where anyone can execute their ideas into something that others can visualize and interpret. Creativity and imagination are encouraged in art, which is why it's so fascinating to practice. Even with the simplest tools, artists can create something out of nothing to form something new and exciting. It gives people a platform to explore and express their emotions through drawing, singing, sculpting, dancing, and so much more.

The title 'artist' can never have a single definition because its basis is the human mind. No two pieces can be the same, as everyone possesses different lives, emotions, habits, dreams, and perspectives that directly influence artistic expression.

I am driven by my ideas and my willingness to share them with others. It's enjoyable witnessing the characters I think about come to life on the page. It's comforting and fun. I can unlock my inner child and immerse myself in the worlds I build.

How did you get started in COMPUTER-ASSISTED VISUAL ARTS? And/or describe an experience you had that helped you develop a passion for what you do. What was it about that experience that was impactful?

I got started in visual arts at a very young age. I loved animation as a child, and it motivated me to create characters and worlds of my very own. I often dreamed that I could make something like the movies I watched on the television one day.

My artistic journey started with pencils and paper which I mainly created art just for fun. My uncle gave me his phone to draw on when we took a family trip up to San Fransisco, and I immediately fell in love with the process. It felt like magic; I had so many different tools at my fingertips to create things I never thought I could make before. I loved the freedom it provided me, and I believe it truly transformed my capability to express my ideas. It wasn't until 2013 that I started to draw on a digital canvas. From there, I began to become more serious about learning the fundamentals of art to assist me in creating art that reflects my creations better.

Looking ahead, what do you want to do as an artist? Generally, what kind of impact do you want to have on the world? Specifically, what kind of work do you want to do in the future?

I'm determined to help shape the future through the use of emerging technologies. I'm interested in Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Human Longevity, and Brain-Computer Interfaces. Although my future career plan is more geared towards engineering, I still want art to be a part of my daily life. I want to inspire others to participate in artistic expression and create innovations that can help our world expand beyond human limitations. Whether it's building robots or continuing to develop the worlds I create, I plan to carry my creativity and imagination with me no matter what I pursue.
